The Power Behind the Warmth
At the heart of it is a high-output halogen lamp, designed to plug in and go. Typical specs? 220-240V, pulling 1500-2000W. All wrapped in a compact tube—just 300-400mm long. That kind of power in a small package makes perfect sense for a spot heater. You get serious heat, fast, in a footprint that doesn’t take over your desk. And the short tube keeps the center of gravity low, so it sits solid—no wobble, no tipping. But here’s the thing with packing that much power into something small: it needs smart engineering. The driver and socket have to handle continuous current without getting hot under pressure. You get that near-instant heat, sure, but you also need to give the unit some breathing room. Clearance around the tube matters.
Built to Last: Halogen, Quartz, and a Smart Connection
The tube itself is a clever bit of design. Inside, a halogen capsule sits snug inside a quartz envelope. Quartz is tough. It handles the shock of turning on and off quickly, and it stays clear even after long hours of use. The halogen cycle keeps the filament stable, so the lamp doesn’t dim or blacken over time. It just keeps delivering steady warmth. Then there’s the connector: R7s. It’s the standard double-ended pin base you see in industrial infrared lamps for a reason. It locks the lamp in place, keeps the connection solid, and makes replacement easy. We chose it because it’s proven, serviceable, and can handle high current without loosening—even with a bit of vibration.
