The Magic of “Instant-On”
Inside each unit is a quartz halogen tube. We’ve dialed these in for high wattage so they hit their peak temperature the second you flip the switch. It’s a different kind of heat. Because it’s shortwave radiation, the energy sinks into your skin quickly. Compare that to those clunky oil heaters or baseboards that take twenty minutes to even get lukewarm. With these, the lag time is gone.
Dealing with Water and Heat
Obviously, putting electricity in a Bathroom is a bit nerve-wracking. We handle that with IP-rated housings and tight gaskets around the sockets to keep the moisture out. The glass is the real hero here. We use a specific type of quartz that can handle a massive temperature swing—going from a chilly 15°C to a scorching 600°C—without shattering. We also add a special coating to the tubes to help them last longer and fine-tune the heat.
The Practical Stuff
We designed these to slide right into standard ceiling grids, which makes installation a breeze. But here’s the thing: since these tubes get incredibly hot, we can’t use cheap materials. We stick to heat-resistant aluminum or steel so the housing doesn’t warp over time. One quick tip: make sure your ceiling has a bit of breathing room. If the heat gets trapped in the void above the ceiling, the safety switch will trip and shut the unit down to keep things safe. Give it some air, and it’ll work perfectly.
